A Memorable Mother / Daughter Morning

The other day, I decided to do a little morning out with just my daughter, Lucie. Weekends are always so jam-packed, it is hard to get some quality one on one time in! SO a girls' morning was seeming like a priority, and I really tried to find a selection of activities that felt special and I knew she would love!

I knew I wanted to take her shopping for a unique piece of clothing at L'Ile aux Fées - an adorable shop specializing in very high quality and handmade children's clothing, so I built the morning's activities around spots near the shop!

We started at the Luxembourg Gardens - a MUST for any trip to Paris. There are pony rides, little boats to sail on the fountain (not open from Dec - Feb usually just FYI), a wonderful playground AND my personal fave carrousel in Paris:). On this morning, to make it extra special, I organized a little mother/daughter photo shoot with My Paris Portraits to get some shots of just the two of us. I am so glad we did this and I love how the photos turned out!

Next we went to the boutique L'Ile aux Fées this was SUCH a special and unique experience, and I 100% recommend stopping by, especially if you have a little girl, and are looking for a very beautiful dress for a special occasion! Charlotte welcomed us so warmly, and really made Lucie feel like a princess. If you write ahead of time, Charlotte might even leave a special little welcome greeting in the window for your child! The boutique is brimming with gorgeous hand-stitched dresses in the softest fabrics. I loved that they have thought of everything - like long hems you can let out so the dress lasts longer, and sturdy cotton fabric that will stand up to machine washing. Lucie chose several pieces to try on, and settled on a chic little plaid jacket, that she will get lots of use out of!

This was way more than just shopping for clothes - it felt almost like we had stepped back in time to when choosing a piece of clothing was very special, and the whole experience felt very personalized thanks to Charlotte waiting on us hand and foot! If you are looking for a truly unique shop for a little girl, this spot is an absolute dream!

Next we headed for lunch. Lucie likes to keep things simple, so we headed over to the Rue de Montparnasse, which is the headquaters for Creperies in Paris! We chose Le Petit Josselin, and after a brief waited, we ushered into a cozy and bustling dining room. Lucie ordered a complete - the most traditional combo of egg, cheese and ham, and then had a 'beurre sucre,' or butter and sugar crepe - another classic.

All in all, an easy and memorable morning out with my daughter, with some wonderful little mementos from our morning exploring.
